Scouting for ducks and found a few

So the report, not good to be honest. A lack of planting and crop type the last few years is leading down a bad path for pheasants in mex. Not sure how much is drought related and the massive amount of water getting pushed over the hill to tj. Could just be the ups and downs of crop markets driving the planting of less friendly things.

It was also 104 so just brutal hot to stomp fields.

Bill,

This is basically what happened to the Imperial Valley wild pheasant population as well...A change from grain, sugar beets, and asparagus type groups to alfalfa, bermuda, and cattle feed...Alfalfa is a death trap for pheasant in SoCal...It's cut about every 37 days and hens love to nest in it...No recruitment, no pheasant.

ps...Cleaning and spraying ditches didn't help either....
