Hey guys and gals. With turkey season upon us I’ve been looking at a lot of “Map Porn” and am about to start putting some boots on the ground. What I’ve found out so far is that there is CNF land on both sides of the 76 by the lake, the gun club and VID. I’ve used a parcel tool map, BLM map and CNF map and can’t find any listing of that land being private adjacent to the VID and gun club. However, when I drove by I saw nothing but no trespassing signs. Isn’t this land public? Can anyone shed light on this? Are those signs just to discourage people? If this land isn’t private am I allowed to access it like any other national forest ? I don’t want to break any laws but I can’t find anything that says this is private land and not for public access except for the physical signs that are posted. Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So it looks like section 9 and and 5 are fair game? Am I reading OnX right? Despite the no trespassing signs......thanks for all the comments so far.

In 5 where both sides of the road are green, but you probably won’t have anywhere to park. On 9 VID owns the land on both sides of the road. Turn on the road that is right before lake Henshaw, its a public and you can drive way in, there is even a parking area by love valley I think it’s called, or love meadow, something like that.

I went to love valley last year on opening day and nothing. Long hike in. Not enough water in that area for turkeys. Thanks for the info.

Last weekend I saw a group of Turkeys off the left side of 76, right after going north on the 79 heading home.
On X says all Private.

I know this mind sound a bit odd to some of you folks...but im pretty sure no trespassing signs mean no trespassing? Just thinking outside the box here...
So what you are saying is, no trespassing is not just guideline, It actually means keep the F out. The nerve of some people.

That's VID land and across Hwy 79 is MCC land...Thanks for the tip...;)
Yea, I always see them there as well as on Moretti's land, hands off on both and Moretti patrols his land during the season as most folks up here do so don't even think you can sneak in. He will call law enforcement in a heartbeat.

P.s. I post game cams on my property and call the sheriff if I see something on my land or my neighbors property.

trust but verify. I've seen signs out in the valley that hunters put up not land owners.
Just sayin.
Some Ahole put a no trespassing sign property of *their name* on one of my uncle's property once and called law enforcement on him for being there.
