Part of area D-9 was closed for law enforcement activity, the suspect in the crimes has been located and killed by Kern County Sheriff's Deputies.

There has been no word (yet) on the lifting of restrictions in the affected portion of area D-9; being the weekend, I wouldn't expect much activity from local government officals (as this would require initiative).

Kern County Manhunt:

Sheriff Donny Youngblood said in a press conference Sat at about 8:40 pm that they are waiting to confirm that the man killed is Ashley.
