zone A vs AO
With your A zone tag you can hunt in the general season only. You will need an A zone archery tag to hunt the archery season in A zone. GENERALLY, the 2 seasons require different tags. There are exceptions. -

Anyone been hunting on Mt. Pinos?
Replying late to this thread. Been busy scouting myself in A zone. Man it's hot out there. Anyway: Mt Pinos is in D13 and is pretty high up but it holds a lot of wildlife in those canyons. Probably the biggest reason that you're not seeing much game sign is that this year is very dry and...- Rob P.

Ventura Hunting
On the northern slopes of the LPNF is where you'll find deer & bear on public land. Public land pig is usually north of hwy 166 although I have seen sign east of I5 in D11. (The northern end of which is closed for the rest of 2013 due to high fire danger. Check the ANF website for the order.)... -

What is the boundary of D-13 and A zone?
The divider between A zone and D 13 boundaries is: From Hwy 166 and Hwy 33, south along 33 to Sespe Creek. East and then south along Sespe creek to Fillmore and hwy 126. East on hwy 126 to Interstate 5. Everything to the west and south of the line in Ventura County is A zone. Rose Valley is...
