Yes cotton tail starts July 1st. Which sadly ill be busy setting up and shooting a 4th of July fireworks show that weekend (its also my birthday), so we wont see cotton tail opening day. Jack Rabbits are year round, which is what we've been wanting to head out for.

I live in the area also. Seen lots of coyote and cat tracks. But I'm looking for deer.

Id love to hunt UT. Probably not this year. Maybe next, I have friends in ID and TX that want to take me hunting as well.
Back on track, I was going to look at Irish Setters as well. Guess when I finally get out to bass pro to check out binos and spotting scopes, I should check out boots...
Not familiar with shoes for crews. I mainly wear Justin's or Carhartt now. Used to own Red Wing, though not in the last 2.5 years after getting my Carhartt work boots, Carhartt broken in faster and were more comfortable from the start. The Justin's are my weekend or around the ranch boots...
I think I might. Now to decide on composite toe or not. I wear my work boots for 12-14 hours a day. They are comfortable.

Has anyone used Carhartt boots while hunting? I have a pair of work boots that I love. Just curious if their hunting boot is as nice as the work boot...

Ok but for example when looking at the Big Morongo area Google says no hunting. But under onX its all yellow for BLM and the Sand to Snow Natl monument
And from what I found you can hunt the Sand to Snow area. But theres no separation of the preserve. Unless Its that non colored area...
Thanks and thats what I was pretty sure of. But for example looking at the desert hot springs area there is yellow listed as BLM for the Sand to Snow national monument. There is a desert mountain just north listed in this yellow zone. However a San Bernardino map showing shootin areas show...
I just started playing with OnX Maps a little last night. Is there a legend available for the color codes? And whats huntable and what is not? When viewing a large area I can see tags like BLM or "X" National forest, but upon zooming closer the tags disappear.

I was planning on checking out that way as well. Mostly for quail. I was going to take a turkey call along when scouting D15 CNF for mule deer and see if I could get a response...... Or a predator to come looking for a turkey.

Unsure yet. I live in the Norco area, so Either up the hill to Apple Valley area or out toward Palm Springs. I will be ordering OnX Maps after work today so I can look at the land and know where I can and can not go.

I just got my license. Planning on heading out soon for some jacks. I really want to try Hank Shaws Hasenpfeffer. His buttermilk fried jack looks good also. [emoji106]
