For sure. Might be one that has a muzzle brake that gets removed for hunting season. I’ve shot my buddies old unbrakes model 70 in 338 enough times to know what I am signing up for.
Basically this exact rifle with a 10 oz Bushnell scope from the 80’s.

+1 for WY. It is similar to MT but a lot less "crowded". Plus if you are resident you can hunt areas that non-res can't without a guide.
Second would be alaska. If Fishing was added to list, then Alaska would win.
It is true, nothing new in terms of performances just all repackaged. The biggest change is how accurate "factory" ammo should be.
What I like about the 7 PRC is pushing that 180 gr ELD-M at 3000 fps. Really it is not needed for hunting other than dramatically reducing wind drift with that...
Splitting hairs but the 7 PRC more similar to a 7 rem mag. Should give you an extra 100 fps over 280ai or 7 saum.
The 7 PRC is to the 7 rem mag what the 300 PRC is to the 300 Win Mag.
Nice Bipod!!
Fortunate for sure!!! God gave me a good one.
I still like running those 140 AH over 3300 fps. I am tempted to clear out my gun safe after hunting season and start fresh next year. I get bored with my guns to easily.
Though that 338 RUM will never leave my hands. But have been...
Not going to lie, i was a little hesitant about getting it because i don't like my fingers that close to my msr when i light it...but as we saw the winds kicked my butt. Now I need to get one.
Have you thought about trying the 180 ELD-M in your 280ai? I know a lot of guys using them for hunting and with the .4 g7 bc, should be insane improvement against the wind.
I like the 280ai a lot, but left wanting a little bit more. I have a problem...
I also did not like having to seat the bullet deep on my tikka. I know you can get around that, but the 7 PRC seems to be designed around the tikka action for heavy bullets.
That it is!! I am just trying to figure out what I want to turn my old tikka into. Tempted to sell my current 6.5 PRC and turn the tikka into one with a faster twist. That or the 7 PRC.
I was also tempted into making the tikka into a LA 300 WSM but I have to many 30 cal magnums.
I am younger and dumb so that has lead me to be fairly recoil insensitive. I do have a 6.5 PRC but have been wanting to add a 7 rem mag or 28 nosler to my tool set.
The 7 PRC basically standardizes all the custom options that you would put into a custom 7 rem mag, just like the 300 PRC does...
