Go hiking in the areas you plan to hunt...hike it often to get familiar with the land and look for signs. Youtube has lots of videos to teach you how to break down a deer, packing it out takes more physical conditioning than skills. I got lucky last season and shot a deer close to my truck, so...

I think that, yes, there are a lot of prepper sites out there but adding a forum to this one would be more about strenghtening/bringing THIS community even closer.

That's so awesome! My boys are 7 and 11 and love to get out there whenever they get a chance...they started shooting nerf guns, then pellet, 22LR and both can shoot the AR fairly well.

I see a lot of recommendations for stew/crock pot type recipes but I don't like how the backstrap turns out...texture gets weird and the taste even worse. I usually pan fry the backstrap and loins and debone the legs. makes good tacos. I gotta give another shot on the slow cooking methods.

I have not shot anything but there is a whole bunch of them that come feed on the seeds I leave for the wild birds on my backyard...if the need ever comes, there will be some fat birds available!
