    Rabbit hunting near Santa Clarita?

Thanks. Any jacks running around up in those areas? I was thinking of using a 22, but i don't mind using pellet either. Not into shotgun hunting rabbits. Kinda takes the sport out of it for me. Plus, just prefer rifle hunting.

    Rabbit hunting near Santa Clarita?

Just wondering if rabbit hunting BLM north of Santa Clarita, i.e., up San Francisquito or in Angeles is worth it. Not asking for anyone's secret spots, just generally if okay. Was looking on OnX east of Drinkwater, maybe up near Sawmill or even southeast of Place to Shoot gun range.

    Coyotes have no fear

While hunting D14 (unsuccessfully...), saw a good size yote walking through the woods with the hind quarter of a deer. Could have been my deer dammit! And I was too slow to get it in my sights.

D14 opener coming up. Who is going to be out there?

been there two weekends in a row. lots of shots fired opening day...in the rain! this past weekend, i saw a couple other hunters both with 2x2's. i've seen some spikes and a ton of does. since this is my first season deer hunting, I suppose i don't know what "busy" is, but it seems okay to...

    Opening weekend, D14

More does and one small spike this past weekend. Saw a couple with some 2x2's hanging. Friend missed his shots at TWO bucks at over 350 yards. His rifle was sighted at 200 and he didn't compensate enough for elevation and it was super windy, but when we heard him shooting several shots, we...

I really wanted to. When we first saw the buck, it was already close to 5:30 p.m. Maybe an hour and a half of day light. He was across a canyon. I figured, even if I could get closer, by the time I could line up a shot, it would be dark. We tried the next morning before leaving for home...

I was at 9700+ feet elevation. Other hunters were there, but not as many as down by our camp. there were some peaks that were even higher, but with the downpour, it just wasn't happening. I have Vortex binos which worked perfectly. We were moving a lot so i ditched the spotting scope. With...

I tried. there were a lot of doe tracks but I saw a few tracks that you could definitely tell were from a buck. This is my first time deer hunting and amazed at the difference between the buck and doe signs. the tracks were all over, so hard to follow one set. but the bucks were out.

    Opening weekend, D14

It was freaking wet! rained hard from Friday at 11 p.m. until Saturday at 4 p.m. A lot of shots going off on Friday, lots of fresh deer signs. Saturday afternoon, saw my first buck. He was with a whole slew of does, about 8. I could not tell if he was legal. Had two single spikes and just...

I picked up a white 97 triple locked 80. old lady find. flipped it in 24 hours. i should have kept it. I'm in an offroading club called The Trail Crew (thetrailcrew.com). Mostly LCs, feel free to check out their FB page. I just did my valve cover gaskets, tube seals, ignition coils...

    Bumper Build

Great job!!! I got my 100 series about 3.5 years ago. I started teaching myself to weld with a 110 buzz box and watched a guy weld on my rock sliders. After that, I made my own roof rack (all low profile ones were $1k +), and then made my own double swing out rear, and plate steel front. I...

    Looking forward to general opening

Great job Longbow! Yeah, the indirect benefit will be for hunting. I can hike, but honestly, haven't humped a pack in a couple decades. So this will definitely help with that. As they say, keep moving or start dying.

    Looking forward to general opening

This is first time hunting deer for me. This past spring (2018), my doc told me I needed some changes (diabetes, BP, cholesterol), basically all the shit that comes with turning 50. So as of June 1, I've hit it hard. Lost about 25 lbs, and saw doc about two weeks ago. She took me off one...
