Fantastic! Thanks for clearing this up for me man!
This whole time I thought I had to leave a sex organ attached for proof if I decided to breakdown the animal in the field. This makes sense why I couldn't find anything other than head retention.
Thanks again SurfNHuntSD!
Thanks for the info. I'm aware of the G13 regs but my question is specific to a doe. I just can't seem to find any info about leaving proof of sex for a female. My plan is to field dress the animal (if successful) and pack out the meat and the only info I could find, as far as leaving proof of...
Yup. Read this but does the head of a deer alone justify proof of sex? The reason I ask is I've read that a lot of hunter leave a testicle attached to meat on bucks as proof. Does the same thought process apply w/ Doe's and leaving a sex organ attached?
This is crazy! I really hope this never happens to me or any other fellow hunter. I wonder if this is just a socal "thing" (problem) or if it's state wide?
I can only imagine how frustrating that was. You should not be the one to educate them on a public service they are required to offer. I guess I'm not surprised though. At least the deputy was cool enough to learn and help out.
Unbelievable! You would think a F&W commissioner would be better suited to countersign over a postmaster. It's crazy that a person with your credentials wouldn't be able to that anymore.
Thanks for the information! I never thought of keeping the hide attached to the head. That's a good idea. I...
Hello,
New guy here again. This may be a dumb question but was wondering if anyone could tell me what will suffice as proof of sex on a doe?
Was planning to leave an udder attached to a piece of meat but am now second guessing myself. Would that be ok?
Also was curious as to where most...
They were a great Butcher shop. Unfortunately they closed down. Great to know Specialty can package. Drop the meat off, drive up the hill and fish for a few hours, p/u meat. Haha!
Hi Ajsnak,
I found out about this website watching a video on YouTube which in turn turned me on to the Ridge2Ridge podcast which is where I first heard about this site. Lots of good information here for a new Hunter like myself in San Diego. Being from Oceanside, I could really find out much...
I am a BHA member and couldn't be happier with the hard work they put in to keep public lands in public hands. Check them out.

Guys,
These comments are awesome! I was a 10yr season ticket holder and life long fan. When they moved I was done with them! Glad to know there are others who feel the same way I do about them now. Haha!
