Heading out Friday to King City for a pig hunt with Outfitter Sam McGuire. Looks like rain is in the forecast. Hunting public land for pigs hasn't been great so we are going private. I will be using my new Sako A7 in .270. Will report back...

I'm back in SoCal today from Iowa. We saw many deer, but no bucks until last night at sunset. I hit this bulky six point (3x3) at about 120 yds, then he ran for 150 yards and piled up. I nicked his heart. I'm thankful for this memorable Iowa whitetail hunt with an old USMC buddy.

Seeing many deer at sunset. Missed one at 230 yds yesterday. Still have the afternoon hunt today and tomorrow. Snow on ground and more tonight; temps between 10-20 .

I'm off to Iowa for a whitetail hunt! I was lucky enough to get drawn and have a great friend that lives there. Let the slugs fly true!

I'm finally getting out this Friday for the first time to hunt with my D16 tag this season! Any suggestions for this late starter? I've been to Otay Mtn, Noble Cyn and Lusardi Truck trail in the past without success. I stay far away from poison oak 'cause I'm highly allergic to it. Thanks...
