    Picked a a new 22 Ruger American

I learned one thing to watch out for is where the scope does and doesn't have parallax. A rimfire scope will be parallax free at 50-75 yards, and a rifle scope at 100+ yards. I think that's part of the problem with my Marlin is that it has a rifle scope on it and has parallax at 25 and 50yds...

What 22LR ammo is best for Rabbit

Come on down, hit me up. Maybe I'll try to get with some of the farmers and hook farmers up with hunters. There are a lot of no hunting signs, but I think those are put up for bird hunting and they would love to have more people hunting rabbits. Maybe I'll post some tricks I've been learning for...

What 22LR ammo is best for Rabbit

Whatever shoots the most accurately in your rifle! :) CCI is usually a good bet, but buy a bunch of different stuff, whatever you can get your hands on. 22s can be very picky about ammo, it can make a big difference. I've read it and experienced it personally. Trying different ammo is...

    Handgun peepers

I've heard it from multiple people and some of them reliable ;D I could see you being possible with some young and dumb coyotes.

Yeah I want to get some sort of a proper zoom lens for my iPhone. My wife has a pretty nice Canon with a decent zoom on it that I like to use but that and binoculars hanging off my neck gets old makes my back hurt.

If you're in the Imperial Valley and get in a bind...

Thanks. I don't get over to Insane Diego (I prefer the country) very much but when I do I alwas go by fine firearms. I go to the mountains a lot up to the north in the summer time to get out of the heat although I haven't been much this year.

Think this doe may be trying to tell me something

That's funny. One time my wife and kids and I were exploring the mountains and my son had to do his business and afterwards we realized there was a trail camera pretty close. Whoops!

    Handgun peepers

I got a Ruger 22/45 a while back as a 22 trainer for my 1911. The thing is pretty wicked accurate I like it. Want to try to get jacks or cottons on the run with it sometime. I was researching something about 2245 and came across some guys website where he had is one of those clamps for a bipod...

    Handgun Rabbits

I really like handguns, 1911s and Ruger single actions. I compete in local action pistol type competitions, it is a lot of fun and might save your life someday to be able to shoot a handgun well. I need to work on my rifle quite a bit more, I'd like to be over get coyotes out further. I have...

    Another newbie

Welcome to the forum. One thing I've learned is animals (coyotes) sure are a heckuva lot harder to shoot than paper. Small game, not so much.

    Handgun Rabbits

I am down in the Imperial Valley South of the Salton Sea by the Mexican border and Yuma, bit of a drive for you and then like a said you'd have to try and find something to do during the middle the day when it's well over 100. That's why there are so many rabbits down here or at least...

Thanks. A lot of it is cheating with the photo editors or at least some people think so. I think they just help to put the beauty back in the pictures that the camera always misses.

If you're in the Imperial Valley and get in a bind...

Hey, don't give me to get too much credit is just how I am wired. Helping people is part of my job and I enjoy it. I've spent a lot of time off roading, towing, and repairing stuff and it's nice to be able to help people The other day I got payback. I got to see my first bighorn sheep because I...

Long version of yesterday's coyote hunt/kill.

I've done a lot of reading but I guess I'm a slow learner, like a lot of people I have to learn by experiencing it, just got to get out there and do it. Something I've realized lately is that in order to hunt the coyote you have to think like the coyote. It sounds cliché but you want to go slow...
