    rifle recommendations

Eventually I'll get an AR but in the mean time I'd like to pick up a decent predator rifle (coyote, bobcat). I'm thinking .223, I'm open to other calibers but I'd like to keep the pelts if possible so I don't want to go too big. What do you guys recommend? I'd like to keep the price down and...

    Central Cal Pig down

Had an opportunity for a pig hunt last week on some fairly productive land and glad I did. I'm green so this gave me the opportunity to get my feet wet with big game. Showed up in the afternoon and was able to do some scouting around the property and check for sign, water holes, wallows, etc...

    Balboa Park archery range

Both ranges are fun, I've never done the trail though. When I've gone it's always been pretty mellow and never had to wait to shoot. The one that's behind the museums the targets are down the hill a little and only go to 45yds(?) the one at morley is all flat ground and the targets go much...

Looking for an experienced coyote hunter partner

My buddy just bagged a yote in Carlsbad with an air rifle. No calls, just was sighting in at a vacant lot when one came through.

    Insulated Cabela boots size 9 1/2 D

Friend gave me these in trade but they are too small. He wore them a few times but as you can see the tread is pretty much intact and the boots are in great condition but a little dirty. $50 OBO I'm in San Diego

    26 Yard Zero

http://www.americanhunter.org/articles/2014/2/4/the-26-yard-hunting-zero/ What is everyone's thoughts on this? I'm doing a pig hunt in a few weeks and while I'm sighted in for 100yds this seems to make sense but I'd like to give it a try at the range before missing a shot in the field.

Thanks for the cooking tips guys. It's brining as we speak, I'll be sure to cook rare.

    My first duck

Hahaha, thanks guys. I know a ruddy isn't the most desirable bird but I'm stoked! :) I'm going to brine the breast for 24hrs in sugar/salt mixture then throw it on the stove. This is my first wild duck I've cooked so I'm winging it.

    My first duck

My first duck hunt, my first duck. Jump shooting the canals in the Imperial Valley. Scared up a bunch out of range all morning until I finally got this ruddy. It was a great day in the field and dangerously addictive. So now where do I start spending all my extra $$ on decoys and calls?? :D

    Considering moving to southern CA

Kayak fishing here is pretty epic. I've caught nice yellowtail just off shore and have friends that have caught tuna off their yaks. Going offshore is fairly easy since you can get into deep water pretty quick. I bought a small skiff this year and take it out 20-30 miles looking for big palegics...

    Considering moving to southern CA

I just moved here 2 years ago from New York. In comparison, it's relatively cheap and there's less people but it's still pretty crowded for my taste and the cost of living is surprisingly high. If you like ocean fishing, surfing or anything ocean related it's some of the best in the country but...
