Nice buck! Nothing like one rifle that works from varmints to elk...maybe you broke one more rib than a smaller caliber!

    Black buck?

Well I've got an A22 tag, so who knows. Game cameras are still out, so maybe I still have a chance at solving this one. Could have just been mud, although it seems pretty dry around here.

Geofish, IRT your shot question. Totally solid rest. Came up from 200yd zero 5 clicks. Elevation was perfect.. wind pushed it left. Impacted just in front of shoulder, throat and aorta. 15 huge spurts made an easy 30yd bloodtrail!

    Black buck?

They were both in a clearing, same light, circling each other. Wasn't ink black. More like a deep charcoal grey. Man I wish I had pics. At first I thought it was a cow but definitely a 3x3.

    Black buck?

Last night I saw two bucks in my spotting scope about 900yds away. One was a normal looking forkie. The other was a totally black 3x3 bruiser, trying to pick a fight. Anyone ever heard of a totally black muley? Do they roll in mud like elk? Wish I had a way to take pics through my scope...

Drug a mile to a prestaged game cart, then another 2 miles maneuvering that pig over rocks, sagebrush, hill amd dale.

    Any luck?

Morning action here in D16. Evenings very quiet. Paterns in my remote valley are totally different this year. I blame it on a Mt. Lion and cub I have on camera over the last few months. I'm not seeing the water or seeps some are talking about. Everything is bone dry.

    D16 Opener

Fri-Mon in a tent 2 miles in. Fri night 5:45-6PM, watched a nice forkie dogging a dow for 15 mins. Sat 1 doe cruising at 8AM at 100yds. HOT day! Just before sunset a group of 5-6 (maybe 1 buck), way out at 800-900yds in a small clearing. Sun 2 does cruise by close, around 8:30. Again HOT...

    Darn Mice!

Hiked in 4 gal of water, tent and ground pad. Checked on them and my game cameras last weekend. Mice had nibbled holes in the bottom of all the water bottles and the ground pad (inflatable). Tent was fine. Oh well, guess I'm packing in more water opening evening and a couple mouse traps!

Trail cam doe's, buck questions, and bobcats.

I see about 10 does for every buck. Early and now, the bucks are nocturnal and solo or hanging in bachelor groups. Sometime in Nov they will become stupid and then if you target does, you'll find the bucks.

    first 2 nights archery - ghosttown...Mt Lions?

Saw one doe on the hike out. Think the Mt Lions are taking over. Found this 3x4. Must have been killed by a lion while in velvet a few months ago.
