    210 yd D16 shot

NKB the model 700 is 7mm magnum. Dead on out to 260, zeroed for 200yds. Sure beats the old WWII Ge Mauser I used for 40 years. Knocked down quite a few bucks with it but wasn't comfortable past 200yds. Glad I made the investment! Easier to do now that girls are out of college and weddings...

    bullet seating question

I seated a bullet long, put black marker around the bullet, chambered it, saw land marks, then moved it in until it came up with no land, marks. This gave me a COL just short of the lands for my chamber. Accuracy is great and have never had any problems with grit or fouling. Simple but it...

    Nice buck got a haircut

I had one like that 2 years ago. Downhill, as I was swinging I'm thinking downhill aim high (backwards -aim low!). Aim high, squeeze and spend next 6 hours following tracks and grid searching. Didn't sleep well for 2 nights. 2 days later I got him on a game camera no holes, healthy as the...

    210 yd D16 shot

Dropped him where he stood. 5 nights in a tent. 7:15 AM, he walked across a 15 foot shooting lane and that's all she wrote. 3 bucks in two years within 20 yds of each other. Now I have to fill myAO tag. Blinds all set up so know where I'll be for the next few weeks!

    1st Bow/Elk hunt - Idaho

Drove back up to Idaho for the last 6 days of the season to give it one last shot. Passed on a deer at 15 yds the 3rd day (had a tag). Never saw another elk but did miss this cow (had an either sex tag) by about 45 mins on the last day. Packing out my camp the 4 miles to the truck, I...

    Deer were moving like crazy.

I get a pair on my game cameras every year, in the valley I camp/hunt from (see attachment). Only seen one of them during daylight, 3 years ago. These pics are from last year. I spend about 10-15 nights there each season and never been bothered. Tent stays out all season and it's never been...

    critter vs ghost

Ditto on box trap. Sounds like a racoon but maybe possum or fox. Box trap will get em all expect maybe a fox. I know from experience it will get skunks too but if you're not smelling skunk, it's probably not.

    1st Bow/Elk hunt - Idaho

As many have said, it was a TOTALLY successful first hunt!!!! I'd have been stoked to get the 1st one on day two but then the experience would have been over and a HARD PACK OUT would have begun. Good news is a buddy at work is now interested in going next year, so maybe I won't have to go...
