    Henshaw reports?

I loved hunting Henshaw, will always be a special place for me. I shot my fastest limit there, albeit the limit was only four birds that season. I loved the fact that it gets cold there, made it feel like a real duck hunt.

    Henshaw reports?

Typically no reports means stellar shooting. That's a lot of hunters using that lake on hunt days :o Them MCC members get to shoot Sundays by themselves.

What do you like to do with ducks?

I'd try that! Looks awesome. I love going to Brazilian BBQ restaurants that serve chicken hearts, but they're minuscule compared to that big boy. Since we've gone on tangent...Goose livers are the bomb! Sliced and sautéed in olive oil with salt and pepper. My MIL who's full German turned me...

Enough of the duck hunting reports

I really am missing the white cheeks this year! Shooting more snows this year than my previous 25+ seasons combined.

What do you like to do with ducks?

Simplest, breast them, season with what you like and grill them medium rare. Sometimes, marinate breasts in Bernsteins Italian dressing for an hour to two, season with salt/pepper to taste, grill medium rare. Another simple recipe, breast them, cut into 1" squares, heat up sauté pan with a...

    Patos & faisanes

I'm guessing Mex? Gawd it would be nice to get into pheasants with regularity! If in Mex and close to the border, are you seeing any water impacts as they line the canals on the US side?

    Suggestions for Waterfowl guns

My next shotgun will be either the Winchester SX3 or the Browning Maxus in 3.5" chamber. They both feel great in my hands and on a swing. My go to gun for the last 10 years has been my old Mossy 835, this year I broke out my 935 that's been hibernating in the safe the last few years. Go...

    I miss So Cal....

Los Panchors rocks, used to live off of Greenfield years ago and I say they have the best CAB. Going from Taco Shop food at least 5 meals a week to zero has been painful. But the outdoors life is off the hook up here 8)

    I miss So Cal....

Nothing compares to San Diego style taco shops...Alberto's, Roberto's, and etc... A burrito up hear must come with rice and beans in it. Just not the same and I MISS it dearly! Oh how I long for Cotijas Taco Shop or Cazadores Taco Shop on Mission Gorge Rd!

30 Days until SoCal Duck Opener!

It depends! How's that for grey? This will be my first year hunting the rice in the north. I'm hoping my situation works out good for me, guaranteed water in a good area. I'm hoping to put the hurt on the ducks and geese. After hunting the lower river for years, I also think last season was a...
