    2025 AZ BUCK HARVEST!!

They are going to learn one of these days... maybe not.

    When they call you Lungpopper

    Did you guys double up?

    Tough Year!

Boom! I learned that lesson the hard way in a spot that *always* held deer. I kept going back thinking I just wasn't seeing them. Looking back, it was too dry and there was no water so they left.

    Tough Year!

If the horse is dead, don't keep beating it. Use it as an opportunity to try new techniques and/or areas.

    KaaaaaaPooowwww AZ couse tag filled

Very cool. I'll have to get down there and chase em one of these days.

    AZ question

Get the e-tag app and call a local office. See if they will work with you. I have had luck with that in the past, however, if the season is open they may not want to do it over the phone for fear of you downing one and calling to get the tag after.

    D16 Mega Giant Down

Nice buck! You're in good company on the bike. I've almost ate it trying to get elk out on my KTM more than once.

    D16 Trophy

To further complicate things, it's a bit of a sliding scale in my book. In recent years, the lack of water and fires has made it seem like we aren't getting the same number of big ones killed like the years past.

    Hunter found

It's somewhat alarming they were not able to find him. You would think a silver truck on an off-road trail could be located in 3 weeks of searching. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

    WORLD CHAMPION DODGERS!!!!

Almost as good as the Cards in 2011 but I may be biased ;) Those Doyers have 9 lives. What an unbelievable series.

    Carter strikes again.

    Very cool. What a sendoff!

    Daypack recommendations

My Dad has that pack, we packed a lot of animals out with it. Elk, deer, you name it. We both now have Kuiu packs with frames and meat shelves. Both pack types work (especially if you hunt near roads), but I would never go back. I've had too many critters pull me way further in than I was...

    2025 Thus far

Sheesh man. Crushing em. How'd you like B zone? I keep trying to talk myself into going up there with a bear tag as well but I never commit.

    Remington 270 bolt action

Mine always seemed to love the ladies. Retired now as well, feel bad about that sometimes. The 130 SST was my favorite.

    NWTF Monthly Get Together 10/20

The next NWTF monthly meeting is tomorrow, Monday Oct 20th at the Hamburger Factory in Poway. Start time is 6:30 pm but many show up sooner than that to shoot the breeze. No need to be a member! We are talking everything fall hunting.

    Very cool! Thanks for sharing!

Public participant survey about the California Fish and Game Commission - DEI alive and well :(

How are we missing the point? I spent more days helping other turkey hunters this year than I did hunt them myself. Many of us here devote tremendous amounts of our own finite time, money and resources helping those communities. Helping Youth Hunters 26' Disabled Vet with his youth son the...

Public participant survey about the California Fish and Game Commission - DEI alive and well :(

Hey, thats an idea! Since were talking about "my truth" and I help a lot of newer hunters, I wonder if I can identify as a hunt-ed instructor and apply for those tags?

Lead free 7mm rem mag rounds

I'd say good enough this close to hunting season. Even if the bullet impacts further from your aim point than you like, it will still pound em. I've never shot any local deer with anything bigger than a 270 or 6.5 and the deer hardly make it anywhere.
