    Buying used duck decoys

Most of the dekes look to be in good shape. Clean the decoys really well, leave the reg size mallards alone, repaint the white chest area and stripe on head of the sprigs. Paint the oversized mallard decoys like snow geese ;D

    WTB-- Ford crew cab

Sorry I have no idea about that plug and coil thing. Last truck I had with a spark plug was in the early 80s. Good luck with the truck search

    WTB-- Ford crew cab

GPS, To the best of my knowledge Ford did not make short bed crew cabs until the middle 90's and they were all F 250 and were independent front ends If you're looking for a gas model look at the 99 and later. You can get crew cab F250s/350s in crew cab short bed configurations. The later...

UPDATE: "25 shells at wister" thread from January

OK so a few laws were broken, I agree especially at Wister about the parking and the inconsitant signeage on the refuge. The titcket for too many shells was avoidable, that one is on the hunters and the warden shouldn't be singled out as the problem. The state is out of money and every...

Stay strong Jen! Look me up next year for a snow goose hunt north of Sacramento

    25 shells at wister...?

OK mud remind me when and where, hopefully neither of us were injured. You're right, I hunt way more than I should, close to 40 days a year, luckiest guy in America. So back to ammo, the majority of geese I shoot are shot with 3" 1 1/8oz 2's, occasionally if I find some 3.5" shells at a...

    25 shells at wister...?

Another consideration to making good shots and cutting down on misses is understanding how birds fly. Teal are some of the slowest flying ducks, what makes them hard to shoot is how quickly they change direction, divers are the exact opposite, fast flying yet take a city block to make a U turn...

    25 shells at wister...?

Here's my 2 cents on this subject. Never shoot more than two shells at any duck, if you miss on the first two, don't shoot the third. If you hit the bird on one of the first two shots, keep the third for a possible cripple. This is just my take, but I don't see shooting clays being any help...

    Whifflemaster or Kenny Begley??

I don't think Phil calls with him, but the two of them created something that still works today. Wonder how many 10s of thousands of geese met their maker because of them

    Whifflemaster or Kenny Begley??

I know nothing about Wifflemasters, but as far as Kenny, he is the man. Kenny and Phil and maybe another person or two broke ground on a very uniqe way of calling snows some 40 yrs ago, there are a handful of us who still use these calling techniques today. My success today is abosolutely...

    Snow Goose Flyby

8, Many of these birds are landing in the decoys, they are just out of view of my phone. We hunted this field 6 straight days, if we shot into these big flocks we could have blown the birds out of the area. Snows are easy to kill, getting them in that close is WAY more fun

Is this pic worth a 1000 words?

A lot of work yesterday paid off, almost a lil too good. My passion is fooling snow geese and get them as close as possible. We shot 20 this morning and went back out to practice calling and take pics, no birds were hurt in the taking of this pic. The closer birds are 10 yds from the blind...

    I love Snow Geese

So in being consistant in poking fun at my old pal Trig is the reason for the title. Steve LOVES his honkers(much dumber than snow geese) and I love my snows. Still fighting a nasty cough but myself and blind partner got'm pretty good today including a few ducks. Got a few bunchs to land...

    which goose call

Yes the Redbones are expensive, but when it comes to goose hunting especially snows there is no part that is cheap The White Outs are great calls for hunting So Cal snows because the birds are in small groups and they are willing to land with small groups of geese. The point is they will go to...

    which goose call

Niccs advice is dead on. The time required to learn how to call geese is very lengthy, it's not learned in two weeks. Calls The Sean Mann Poly White Call is a very good call at a great price, good starter call. Performance Calls, they make a nice acrylic I will be adding a Redbone snow call...
