    Az Archery Coues / Pigs

I've seen some pretty nifty YouTube hunts in Az for Coues and Pigs and am thinking about giving it a try. Wondering if anyone has any experience with the Az Coues hunt in January ? P.S. ...and I'm not looking to mooch spots or anything, that's not me.

    A22 Season

Sounds like a tough A22 season for most. Time to fish for a few months, then scouting again.

    A22 Season

I'm not sure how most faired thru the A22 Season, but it seemed like I was seeing a higher than normal volume of mountain bikers and hikers this season and a lot of Santa Ana's, making it tough to see anything but tracks. Anybody fill a tag or come close ?

    Grouse & Quail

I'll be chasing Ruffed grouse shortly. I shot a Ruffed grouse last year during archery elk season at 20 yards. The meat was really good and I kept the fan. It was a nice one. I'll be keeping my eye out a little sharper this elk season, in hopes of getting a few more. They are a treat on an...

More taxes on guns and ammo in Ca.

More Democrat Abuse-of-Power, is how I see it. ~ What happened to unfair taxation without representation ? ~ Additionally, look at the 28th Amendment...if ratified, what is to Stop CA Gov from declaring all firearms illegal and begin confiscation ? I was just thinking today, of all the...

    Poor Mans Puffy Pants

Fine lookin' Dawg you have there! I have the same model at home....he's not brilliant, but he's waterproof, floats and better than me at finding birds ;) We both can't wait for hunting season! Thanks for posting that pic....Good times!

    Poor Mans Puffy Pants

The only practical use/justification for puffy pants, is to slip them on when your sitting on a pad, glassing in the cold for hours....they take the edge off. Like raingear tho, if your hunting buddy doesn't have 'em, and you do, your likely head back to camp anyways. I found a...

First one with a bow for me

Congrats on the Mutt with a stick ! Seriously, I've actually never heard of anyone eating one. Ewwww! Most all the ones I've kilt have had mange, fleas etc........maybe if you pour gas all over it, light it, burn it to a crisp, wrap it in bacon, douse it in ketchup, then burn it again ;)

    Lost my wife today

Wow, It's a huge loss for you and and your family. I'm sorry. It sounds like you had a great and meaningful marriage. That's a very good testimony to your kids, something you are both leaving to them. God has his Hand on her, you and your kids. Pray, Read His Word and you will find the...

Hello all! New hunter here looking for someone who could possibly help get me started.

Other guys gave you some solid advice. To get the big picture of where to hunt, you can also buy the USDA (US Dept of Ag) National Forest Map of your area from the local Forest Service office. It color codes BLM, National Forest Land, Private Land etc.... Then get OnX Maps on your Cell and...

    Question for Benellli M2 shooters

I've never experienced any malfunctions with my Benelli in the ~13 yrs I've owned it....but thinking out loud, maybe you have a slightly weaker recoil spring ??? Just a thot tho.

    A22 Archery Report

Over the weekend, I thought about going up to the Laguna's, but figured the place would be over-run with bow-dudes, day hikers and mountain bikers...the typical weekend scenario I usually see. So I went to one of my old haunts, near Lake Morena instead. I had a good wind to sit ~30 yards off...

    Idaho Deer 2023

Ha! I was #12,846 if I recall correctly. That was SO painful!!!! I pulled my Panhandle Elk A tag for Archery. There were 650 tags available in total and 250 left when it was my turn. I thot for sure I'd get skunked on the elk tag. The Whitetail tag in Idaho isn't such a bad deal either, if...

    Loveland res destruction

Unreal to see that lake gone. San Diego has been in a perennial drought since the 1990's. Our loathsome loser woke politician's have had ample opportunity to get off their thumbs and act, but have always decided not to act and just raise the cost of the water to the consumer, to penalize us...

    Hilleberg Tents

With my YouTube addiction to backcountry archery elk vids, I've never heard anything bad about Hilleberg tents. Randy Newberg really uses them and raves about the quality and durability. I needed to buy a 3-Season tent last summer for Fall elk season in Idaho. I was tossed up between...

Idaho Non-Resident Application Dec 1 - Online Fiasco

I missed the 1st year draw, but the last year it seemed ok. I drew #846 or so and pulled my tag after 2 hours maybe. But this year just blew me away how bad it was. I'll look into the Controlled Hunts. Thanks for that info.
