I just wanted thank you and everyone else that mentors our youth. I would love to help with the mentorship program, but I have a lot to learn first. These CA animals and areas still have me scratching my head! It's good to see y'all teaching the kids right. Great job!
Just goes to show that you're never too busy to hunt. I don't have a lot of time to get out but it doesn't take a lot of time if you're in the right place. Thanks for the post Matagi. It gives me hope!
Welcome to the site. Spend some time reading old threads , there is a lot of good info in here. I 'm also an Iraq/afghan vet. Feel free to reply or PM me with any questions you have.
Same here in d16. Have plenty of fresh sign, just not seeing them in daylight. If it's too hot for the deer, maybe they are smarter than we are! Stay safe and hydrate out there.
What a shame! Seems like there are way too many cats around these days. Just talked to another hunter today that had one within 50 yards walking parallel with him all the way back to his truck. Way too many sightings and sign in my opinion...and now there's one less buck for everyone to go...
If only I had known earlier, just hauled off king and queen fronds today. I will try to get out of a "volun- told" commitment and get up there Saturday. Thanks for posting Steve!
I know it is gut wrenching to lose an animal. The hard part is over now though. Either he survived and is healing now or he died and is no longer suffering. Keep your head up, you'll get the next one!
Welcome! Like you, I read a lot and learn all I can. This is a great place for it. As for the million questions, just ask. Lots of knowledge with the members here and they are always helpful.
