    Trail cams

Only twice in 20+ years. And one of them I found the buck scouting and killed before I pulled the SD on the card to see the buck on camera. The other was on a fresh burn and probably the only CBT that was honestly patterned from July-sept. Wasn’t able to kill him with the bow, but killed him...

    Big Game Digest Is Up

I believe the data is calculated factoring in non reports as well as a factor for those report no take but in fact did take a buck. I know they used formulas for those factors in the past- I am not sure if they still do with the mandatory reporting now. Anyone notice the start date of D 3-5...

    Well…. My season is over

It was a memorable trip for sure. Getting an X tag I put more pressure on myself to find and kill a mature buck- where as in A zone the first legal buck gets it. Sometimes the added pressure makes for a stressful hunt- especially finding nothing truly mature in all my scouting. I learned a lot...

    Well…. My season is over

Opening morning we found “big and little” The blurry 3 point from above we also found again For the next 5 days between the hail, rain, snow, wind storm we played with these guys. Couple blown opportunities and on the 5th day I was closing in on big and while he was moving from first bed...

    Well…. My season is over

The second buck was from an X zone. Drew the tag and spent 10 days scouting along with placing cams. The extra wet weather this year appeared to push antler growth further into the season. First time ever seeing fuzz on opening A zone rifle and all the bucks in my X zone were still growing into...

    Well…. My season is over

Thanks gents! No doves were been harmed, but we did manage to get a ruff looking “road chicken”. First big fuzzy fork was opening A zone rifle. Hence the lucky orange hat.
