I am excited! Just received my 100 Grain Ballistic Tips for the 260! Pools of dog blood and thoracic dismemberment will be the result of these vicious little pills.

Time to hit the reloading bench! Results to follow... ;)

cough cough...ummm we keep making pretty bullets but not killing anything.

Wasn't there a place just recently littered with dead elk (2 weeks ago)? ::)

These things take time. Will be hunting this weekend.

Only talking about dogs :)

I'm taking this weekend off ducks so the dogs are in trouble.

Just finished the first 18 test rounds!

Here is what I am loading:

.260 Remington
Nosler 100 Grain Ballistic Tip Bullets
Federal Cases (OAL 2.035")
COAL 2.865"
Federal 210M Primers

Loaded 3 rounds of the following:
Winchester 760 Powder
46/46.5/47/47.5/48/48.5 grains

The loads should yield between 3200 - 3400FPS depending upon which one shoots the best group!

I'm ignorant to what all those numbers mean but they look badass!

I imagine that .260 must be a flat shooting round?

Shoots flat, hits hard and penetrates deep without recoil.

Also in the 1000 yard shooting circles it is the current KING!

boy those bullets don't look like they are seated very deep. .260 is a very funny looking round ( unless you are
coyote then you wouldn't think it was very funny)

Yup - just seated into the neck! It is nothing but a .308 necked down to .264". Hope they shoot good!

Indeed. Need to head to the range first and find out what load shoots the best. Then we will have a soft target test.

Found what I was looking for. Looks like 47 grains of Winchester 760 gets me inside the coyotes eyeball at about 3275 fps!

The group size is .536". Not too bad!
