Arizona OTC archery deer

Hey guys,
I have done hours of research online, studied lots of maps and read all the regs. I'm trying to put together a backpack style hunt in Arizona for OTC mule deer. I figured some of you guys may have knowledge of the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning to go for the early archery season late summer so I intend to head north away from the heat as much as possible.

It's not necessary to do a backpack hunt as there are roads everywhere, except for wilderness areas. The farther north you go, the more hunters there are during the August, generally. There are 6 million people in the Phoenix area who are also trying to escape the heat. You might think about Coues Whitetails as well. Ed F

Ed,
Thanks for the intel. I figured I could drive a lot but I was just hoping to find anywhere to ecscape the crowds. Because the tag is "any antlered deer" I wasn't going to limit my self to one species over the other. I am more in it for the adventure than killing a giant.
