AZ sheep transplant controversy

Interesting read. Without a biology background my thoughts may be somewhat ignorant. I would have thought the big cats in the area would have been concern enough to eliminate a few to give transplanted sheep a chance. Seems like a considerable loss given the effort and expense involved. It will be interesting to see how this plays out...

I know this area through study, The reason the cat population has grown is because of expansion of human habitat and peoples pets and livestock being predated upon, There has been a problem there for a few years because the lions have keyed in on this which has allowed the cat population to thrive and expand because of ample food sources (domestic and wild ). Once again wherever we go we must manage the wildlife to maintain a proper balance.
 
Any time you add more pray the predator will do well until the pray knows the area and then the odds change. I bet most were killed right away then a few here and there.

I'm just glad the wackos are attacking some one new so they can feel our pain!
