A guy I work with got in touch with me last week about a bear skin his mom found and was going to throw away. She didn't know where she got it, or why it ended up in her shed. He asked me if I wanted it, otherwise it was going to the dump so I told him sure. I was a little leery about it, not knowing what I was going to be given and in what condition, but it turns out to be a really nice bear. There was no official DFG on it or with it, but it did have a hand written paper tag looped on a string through the eye that had a name and date from 1964 and $30.13 as a sale price. So I'm guessing this hide is pretty old. Lucked out on this one! Just not sure what to do with it now... ???
