BLM Implements Additional Fire Restrictions for Public Lands

Being a firefighter I am not surprised to see this put into place. We have been recording weather for 100 years now and the drought conditions have never been this bad.

If we start getting fires in our back country, I could see this being a year they closed access to the public. Doesn't mean this will happen, but lets be smart and stick to the policies they have put into place.

Thanks Wheels for posting this. In the docment below, it specifies that Stage III includes an absolute prohibition on use of firearms. Is that true, and does it apply to all BLM land until further notice? In that case, It's a good thing I can still shoot at SBRGC when I want.

In my original post I added a PDF and it shows a map of the state. They show areas that are stage 1 - 3. So this will give you your answer I hope. They do update this, but I would think it will stay in place until the end of summer. Which this year has lasted all year :) I can't remember 106 degree weather in May.
