Hello, my nephew from Norway is studding at UCSD, and I am trying to organize a hunting experience for him over there. He has been hunting with me since he was 7 years, and now he is 22. This is the first year he won’t be hunting in all these years. He is a serious hunter, and at decent shooter.
I am hoping he would be able to go on a deer or wild pig hunt, guided by an experienced hunter in an aerie with good hunting.
I am thinking to give this at a Christmas present from his “old” uncle, who has been teaching him too hunt, both in the forest, and as an official hunting instructor. Hope an experienced hunter in San Diego can help me give him a Christmas present of a life time. I can`t afford to pay a whole lot of money, but I think we can agree on something. May be a handmade custom knife made by me?

San Diego has very few pigs it can take a week just to find them even with dogs then you have to spend several days on top of them and hope to get lucky and get a shot. The only guaranteed hunt in San Diego is with this guy but it's farm animals in a low fence.

Then wild pig is out of the question. Any hunt will be fine, I just want to give him the experience :)

Lots of bobcat, fox & yote hunters on here that's lots of fun inexpensive and a real challenge. Or theirs ducks, quail, dove & pheasants but that can cost you some cash instead of a trade because he needs a tag/stamp.

Does he have a california hunting license?

No he hasnt got a California hunting license, I hope that is a small problem. A fee for tag / stamp is ok, as long its not to expensive....

You may be able to hunt at Big Horn Canyon Ranch without a hunting license but anywhere else you HAVE to have one. And before you can buy that you have to have the hunter safety course. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Does he have a hunting license from Norway or another euro country?

That's all he needs and he can get a california hunting license.
