Took my girlfriend for a little hike into an area that use to be the family "honey-hole" but due to lions we have had a shortage in deer over the past few years. After glassing at one spot til 9, me and my girlfriend decided to glass a good area I have seen bucks at in the past. While headed to the spot we jumped up a bedded buck, we tried to get on him, but he was headed out of the country. At about 10 I spotted a buck in the distance, a good forky. After watching him for a bit, we decided to go after him. We got to 500 yards, but the buck was feeding uphill and starting to head over the top of the ridge, once we got to the top of the ridge where we had last seen the buck he was no where to be found. Overall a good hunt, this is the third legal buck that my girlfriend has had a chance at in D-13. Just a matter of time before she will put one down. She did great though, on this 5 mile round trip hunt. I could tell she got the fever when I told her I had spotted that second legal buck, shoulda seen her on the stalk on him, talk about excited

Wat to stay with it Taft. Tell here we are rooting for her and expect a nice picture soon.

Cool report Taft, I'm sure we will see her soon with a D13 buck. Wish her luck from the Gteam.

Well almost got it done last night. Same situation as last time in the same spot. We glassed for about an hour and a half, then a nice tall forky got out of his bed to feed. But he was moving to quickly to a water hole, by the time we got to where I last saw him he was gone.. And he was only 100 yards from the spot we saw a buck last weekend.
So far we have been in d-13 3 times and have seen 1 spike, 1 buck(unknown), and 2 forkies. So weird I haven't seen a doe yet..

Yup. They're just getting interested. Nothing came in to rattling yesterday but had one response to an estrus bleat. I could have used some scent; would have brought him in closer and held him. I'll do that next time, now that I know this area.

One of my buddies uncles d-13 buck this morning. We hiked into a spot but it was too dang foggy to see...

Me and my dad went out tonight trying to fill one of his tags. We spotted a buck 2000 yards away, but the sun was setting and we just couldn't get to him in time.
Also had a yote at 497 yards staring at us for like 5 minutes, it was kind of cool lol
