Sure is. The fire is about 1/4 mile away from the fire station so these guys were able to get on it quick but it's so thick up there. Lot of air drops.

Unfortunately they're now saying the Ortega will be closed for a few weeks to replace all the burned out guard rails. That screws my commute. Took me two hours each way yesterday. Normally it's 1 hour each way

I'm in the same boat as you brother. Last update I saw said it was going to be close for 6 days. If CalTrans is organizing it, 6 days = a few weeks.

This is from patch.com "The Ortega Highway remains closed in both directions. Monday night the California Highway Patrol issued a statement, saying the closure could last for up to six days. Residents are being allowed access to their homes, but only with a CHP escort, according to the agency. "

Well 6 days is better than the "several weeks" one of the Sgts put on the CAD for CHP. Lets keep our fingers crossed

Well my commute has gone from 2 hours round trip to 2 hours each way.

Monday - State Route 74 (Ortega Highway) will open tonight at 6 pm to all traffic until 8 am tomorrow morning.
Tuesday - The route will be subject to one-way traffic control between 8 am and 4 pm to all commuters until the repairs are complete. Motorists are advised to add time to their commutes during the work hours. The road will open (unrestricted) between 4 pm Tuesday and 8 am Wednesday.

Thanks for the update. I'm in the south end of Corona (near Tom's Farm) where are you driving from?
Shoot me a PM sometime. I have an area nearby I want to go shoot some bunnies. And I've heard there's other game in the area.
