Anyone who has attended one of these, do you need to bring anything besides yourself? The registration website only has generic info on what the advanced hunter ed classes cover. I'm going to the upcoming one in San Luis Obispo and would really hate to get there and find out I needed to bring something. I already sent a message to the person in charge of this event but never received a reply.
Thanks.

My wife and I went to the pig/hog one in the same place up in slo. Bring your hunting license and a note pad. We got LOTS of good info. The printed material they give you is nothing you can’t find online but they bring it all together. The wardens share hints on some good areas that are not in the material and you will miss it if your not paying attention. Also make it a point at some time in the day to talk with each warden. We had 6 wardens that day. Get a card and ask them what area they are usually in and write that info on the back of the card. It may come in handy one day.

We made a long weekend out of it. They have some nice fishing lakes up that way.

Just don’t get a kidney stone and have to leave early during the gutting and skinning time to go to the local emergency room like I had to do.

That's good info, thanks. I'm going up a day early to stay in Morro Bay for the weekend. The gutting and skinning is something I really want to see, and if there is participation I'll call that a score.
Thanks again.

I did the deer class down here in Los Angeles last year. I'd say you're good with note taking stuff and food if the class it outside of town a ways. The one here way 80% in the class room with a few ventures outside and a rundown of dressing a deer that the game warden picked up as road kill. It's a very fun and informative class.
