Went out last night didn't get anything but it was fun got home around 2am. On our first set 15 minutes in something came in about 20 yards out behind some bushes/trees. All we heard were two pissed off hisses. They sounded exactly like this http://youtu.be/18AMW_IJ7zs
So that was kind of exciting. Probably should have thought twice when we walked in over the carcas/bones of a dead fawn.
On another set in a more desert area I called in what sounded like at least two but probably more dogs. All we could hear was feet charging from our back right as close as 10 away. My partner jumped up gun in hand and screamed "Drew are you ok what's happening". Needles to say those dogs didn't come any further but I did get to listen to the run away. He said he thought I was getting chased by donkeys. I told him I will let him know next time if something is attacking me or if I call a pack of donkeys in. It's a learning experience but I'm hooked.

Nice!

A few days back while elk hunting I was walking out at night with my light off when all of a sudden I get this big deep growl......then about 7 wild horses bolt out of the creek bed. Never heard a horse growl before I first thought bear but it sounded different, then I hear them bolt with hoofs hitting River rocks

Love things that go bump in the night. Makes ur hair stand up. When at the time it's not fun makes a good story

More importantly; let's hear the elk story!

Donkeys.......... Great story. You had me laughing.

Sounds fun. How do you rig the light? Is it on a pole, tree or gun mount? Is gun mount legal ?

Ha the donkeys story is way better than shooting a coyote. He will never live that down.
I have the light mounted under the barrel of my shotgun. I don't see anything in the regs that says no gun mounts so I am going with it. To me holding a light and trying to shoot is dangerous.
