how to start a new thread on Tapatalk?

Okay, I give up. Obviously others can do it, but I've pushed every button on tapatalk (I think) and can't figure out how to start a new conversation. What gives?

Go into the area you want to post (example -"Open Discussion Room"). Up on the top right hand side you will see a pencil button. Click on the pencil and away you go!
