Az dfw released this pic of an adult male Jag that was caught on one of their remote trail cams just south east of Tuson. They said although this is part of their historical range it is very rare to see one up here. They have captured pics of him in about 5 diff locations. He was originally discovered by a pic of his tail on a hunters trail cam.

Wasn't there another jaguar they were tracking with a radio collar a while back? They found it dead I think.

More humans have been killed by Jaguars than any other cat. That is a fact!

I believe there are more than we think (it takes two to procreate). Jaguars were thought to be extinct in NA and they keep showing up. Below link is a great short read on the existence of Jaguars in the Southwest of North America.

Hunted Mearns quail with a fellow a few years ago down there, he also ran cats with dogs in that area, he said they are not that unusual, his dogs would tree one every year or two. While I was there he showed me cat scat and was able to tell the difference by the "twist" in the droppings as to which species it was.

Really? The twist?

Learned something new today.

Here is another pic they released a few days ago. They believe this is the only one and they have been watching him since Sept. 2012.
