picky 223

just picked up tikka 223 with a 22" barrel 1-8 twist. I threw it in a stockys VG stock + a matthews fabrication check riser and put a vortex lht 22x on top. I cant get it to shoot at all.

Tried so far
Lake City brass
varget
cci small rifle magnum #450 primers
75 elmds with multiple charge weights and seating depths .010 .015 .020 .025

77tmk multiple charge weights. waaaay of lands just seated to mag length

I know its not my shooting as I shoot the same tikka/ stock combo for my 300wm and 6.5cm but with hammers and they both shoot lights outs.

Let me know if you have any suggestions on next steps!

good point. threw it in the post. its a 1-8

You need to go to a lighter bullet. Both bullets you picked need a 1:7 twist.

Thanks guys. I read on a lot of forms that the tikka really liked 77tmk but so be it.

What would you reccomend dropping to a 50 grain bucket 60?

55-62 grain will work great.

Try a different scope, I have had good luck with a 1:8 and 77tmk and other 77gr projectiles

Going to a 55. As a learning question should I be running bullets well past the 1.50 SG from now on?
