I put this in Open Discussion because I think it is of general interest because unless you're a 100% bowhunter you probably have some ammo stored at your house. This video is from The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI) done in cooperation with Fire Fighting agencies. It shows the danger (or lack of danger) from ammunition when it is exposed to fire, dropped, or shot at. It's 25 minutes long but very interesting. Basically throwing ammo into a fire results in firecrackers. Even a .416 going off outside a rifle chamber doesn't have enough oomph to penetrate drywall. You're probably in greater danger of injury from a small piece of brass flying up into your eye than the actual bullet.
