Hey guys and gals, I'm trying to find a good place to get traditional wood arrows for a friend of mine but without breaking the bank. I called up 3 Rivers and got a quote for $265 for two dozen arrows but that seems pretty expensive to me for some reason. Anyone have any input on wether that's a decent price or if I could do better else where?

Thanks in advance!

That doesn't seem extremely high.
I did a quick check on Lancaster and Bowhunter Super Store and they were just about the same cost.
The wood arrows are more of a specialty now so you'll probably pay more where ever you get them.

That's the answer I needed, thanks Jim! Exactly why I'll stick to shooting compounds.

There is a seller on Ebay that makes really nice wood arrows for quite a bit less than 3R or BSS.
But it sounds like you should stick with your compound like you said.

Yup talked to Bruce and he recommended 3R. I may also try eBay, the arrow is for a friend of mine in Japan and since he can't get archery equipment there I'm trying to get him some stuff.

I've seen some of the custom arrows available out there. Some serious talent. Almost too pretty to shoot!

Oh yeah the traditional archery gear is really deep. Lots of talented arrow makers out there.

I found the guy on Ebay again (yankeeferguson) or try allwoodarrows.com I bought my first dozen wood arrows from this guy he builds really nice arrows. I bought my dad a recurve bow and gave him the arrows, I like the looks of them but IMO they are too finicky, I shoot only carbon out of all my recurves and longbows
I believe you can get a dozen for around $110 bucks in any spine you need.
