Utah Zion general season deer

I drew a general season Utah deer tag for unit 29 Zion and was curious to see if anyone has ever drawn or hunted that unit in here . And if so how was your luck and if you have pictures I would love to see them to give me an idea of what to expect for a class buck .

I have been looking at that tag I have no info for you but I am excited to see how it goes for you. I like the tag since it is in the southwest corner of the state not that far of a drive for us So Cal guys.

Yeah that is what got me intrested in drawing it the fact you can draw it every couple years and it’s only 6 hour drive for me and the potential of killing a buck buck is always there . Anyway I will try and keep the forum posted for others like yourself also probably will have a Instagram store posted along the way since the week before I will be in Wyoming hunting and then to Utah after that so it should be fun three weeks straight of hunting and traveling . It is good unit for deer look onx map to find public ground lot private property on that unit lots good buck I know few area that hold some good buck on them

Very cool unit. I’ve been through it a few times. I’ve seen the most deer in the northern part of the unit and the north east corner of the unit. Northern part of the unit just south of cedar breaks is good. All around Navajo lake is pretty cool and holds deer. This unit borders the paunsaugunt so a lot of the giants are shot on near the border the unit on private. If I was going to hunt it I’d get dialed in on the private land boundaries using on x maps. Lots of big deer on private over there. When the snow comes they migrate south to Kanab and the kolob reservoir. Good luck!

Lots of young small bucks nothing worth shooting, so I came home empty handed oh well may give it another try in a few years !
