A big Timber rattler will pierce hard leather on your foot like butter. 9 out of 10 hits are gonna be above the ankle. It only takes one though to go the other way and if you do not have a snake bite kit you are screwed. Do your best to keep your heart rate down. The best thing is just spend a couple hundred dollars on a quality pair of snake boots. Danner makes some good ones.
