Shot 12 rounds re-zero the iron rear peep sight.
In the future I think would
Like an AR busnell tac scope. Practice at 52 yards
No sharp Shooting just practice. I did about 5 inch grouping. Not bad for wore out eyeballs. Fun stuff lol.IMG_20190110_163250.jpg

Although I am fond of iron sights I need all the help I can get it's Time for Optics. Since my grouping would be worse at 100-150 yards lol.

I would love to have a backyard with that view!!!
Lee, how far can you shoot at a target there?
What caliber are you shooting?

I love shooting my air rifle with iron sights. At 50 yards with heavy pellets it groups nicely. Unfortunately all my other rifles don't have iron sights so scopes were a must.

That's how I started out. But it pays to have optics. Much easier
Especially for worn eyes.
My main problem is standing up shots. Same with compound bow.
I can't hold steady any more.
I do much better with a tripod steady rest. LOL.
I do really well with my 243, 3-9 x 40 optics.

Slings are really helpful for off hand shooting.

I always have slings on my rifles. It creates a third " support point" (if you want to call it that way) that is amazing, Standing, prone or knelled it provides me with a solid hold.
