Montana 'fowling...Dang good.

Good weather or bad weather, the waterfowling has been good this week...I've hit both the main areas to hunt (Benton & Freezeout), but also have scouted and have found some BMA props to hunt.

ps...Hunted for that doe white-tail yesterday too...Had a shot, but the owners of the prop drove up right when I drew (very unexpected because it's BMA)...Had a small window to shoot with 2 yearlings standing next to me (literally, maybe 15')...Hit a small branch and over her back it went...Actually, I think I'm glad I missed their mom (damn, I'm getting soft in my old age...lol).

ps...The last pic is the doe with her 2 yearlings...Nice whitey buck with them.

I've seen a lot of birds heading south...But, everything that was frozen solid, is now open again.

Beautiful pics. I read about the storm that recently blanketed Montany with snow.
I would like to hunt Pronghorn in NM but the farmed antelope ribs I had a Napa restaurant were Gamey as hell! I have read mixed reviews on the taste of those Goats.
Montana looks like Hunter's paradise, someday....

Huns & sharpies are open now, but there's so few birds because of 2 bad winters in a row...I've decided to lay off here locally...Pheasant season opens a week from Saturday.
