First time out this year, went on the New Lo Ann for an overnighter with the plan on hitting dorado, YT, and maybe YF.

Slept fairly well on the boat (only woke up 3 or 4 times), got up for the day at 5 am however the boat was just drifting until first lite when the caption could spot kelp patties.

After searching for an hour and a half we came across a kelp patty loaded with dorado, boat hit limits (52) in 15 minutes. It was complete chaos but so much fun, I ended up keeping my first two (smaller) but landed some really nice ones that I had to toss back.

The search for YT went on all day stopping at kelp patties, I caught two really small ones but kept one against the crews recommendation because I like to eat them. haha

Around 4 pm YF started to have some big boils and ended up getting 2 smaller ones in the boat. Overall it was a successful trip with some good fish to eat.

I failed at the photos, I covered up my tricer hat with my sunglasses @Truduct.

Probably pretty crazzy with a bunch of dodos hooked up. Those thing go everywhere. Fun stuff congrats! I sweated my nuts off glasses for 4 hours and didn’t see a deer. Home now because I am either smart or a wuss I can’t figure it out.

my money is on smart, 110+ with fires starting in East County.

yeah those dodo’s where jumping out of the water left and right. It was a blast and people were hooked up all over. I cooked up some up tonight and my son said it tasted better than ice cream...as he ate a half of a fillet.

New Lo-Ann is a great boat. Seems to me I have been fishing her off and on since I was old enough to drive to San Diego (45+ years). Hard to believe she's that old.
