    D-11 reports

Glad to see some of the 6000 are having success... Westside, what part of d-11 did that little guy come from? Today sucked also.hiked in about 5 miles, still hunting the whole way. Got boxed in by a big canyon again around 11:00. Set up in the shade to glass.right off the bat found a doe bedded...

    D-11 reports

I moved back to Cali from Utah, and by the time I could get around to buying a tag, only d-11 was left. I have many honey holes in d-14, but never hunted d-11. Specifically the wright wood area because it's closer to home. I've been out 4 times as time has not been on my side this year. I went...

A guy hunting D-16 with automatic rifle

As i said, I didn't mean to bash the gun. As we all know it's all about the user behind it. I'm just saying that people see what manufacturers are advertising and want to be part of the in crowd. They buy ar's because they want to feel important like the police or military, or see all the guys...

A guy hunting D-16 with automatic rifle

In my opinion, AR's are like bell bottoms or ford mustangs. Just a fad that will wear its self out. It looks "cool" so everyone want one. It has nothing to do with accuracy or effectiveness. You cannot say I use an ar and it drops them in its tracks. It's not the gun that did it. It's the shot...

    Utah 2015

I know a lot of folks who like it and a lot who don't. It might just be an acquired taste! I've eaten so much elk meat over the years, that it makes me sick to smell it cooking..I have to go outside until its done, then I can eat lol. Very wierd how it does that to me. I shoot hand loads with...

    D16 BIG 2X2 DOWN!!!

Just for peace of mind, it seems that you don't have enough cape for a shoulder mount, but a very creative double European mount would be a good choice. Good job and congrats on your success this season.

    Utah 2015

It's Scott. ;) Yes, for some reason Utah antelope are far better tasting than others. I made jerky out of our Wyoming 2013 goats. They were the most gamey animals I've ever tried. My 2006, 2010, and 2012 Utah goats were all very good.

    Utah 2015

Eric, do you hunt with a bow or rifle? Many good units you could draw with 13 points. Unless your obviously waiting for the pahvant. San Juan has tons of elk, actually mostly bulls. Nothing huge, but 340's are there in numbers. The bull Population is way higher than cow population, so they fight...

    Utah 2015

Thanks everyone. And if anyone wants to hunt Utah, especially the nebo, manti, fish lake or Monroe, let me know. I'm willing to give any advise, locations or tips. And if I move back this next summer, I'll be more than happy to help in person. I have four kids, my sons ,8,4, and 3 years old...

    Utah 2015

I guess I forgot to put it in there, but my first shot must have barely missed the buck and disoriented him, but my second shot hit both lungs and shoulder blades. third shot hit him in the spine. when we were back at the house, showered and warm, I asked my son if he had fun despite being cold...

    Utah 2015

Utah was wet this year! Rained the whole hunt but had the deer moving. Or at least i want to believe it was the rain and not the parade of orange. I hunted 3 different units in 3 days and have never seen so many people. It was very discouraging but i knew most people road hunt, and that i had an...
