My pops and I went out to Colorado in October for the 2nd mule deer season. Had a blast and shot my first mule deer. Not a monster but I was really happy with him. It was my dads first time ever seeing snow and being in weather colder than 50degrees
Hunted Blythe on the opener. Several of us had limits by 730am. Most birds I seen in a few years not as crowded either. My son had his best dove hunt so far with 9 birds with his .410. He had to work hard for them In The heat but it was a great trip.
It’s crazy because on Maui you can shoot a monster buck in someone’s back yard or right around the neighborhoods but getting out and being in an area where no one is around and it’s so peaceful really and hunting the deer that do not see peaople very often or at all felt really good and meant a lot.
yes it was hard work and very heavy pack especially because I carried half of my dads deer because I didn’t want him to struggle to bad on the way out. But it was all worth it in the end.
