Hey everyone, sorry for the late post. Work and a high school friend passing when I got back was crazy. Praying for her 2 kids she left behind. Ok, to the hunt, we got there nice and early. We were assigned camp hope and I got great Intel from great people on this forum. Looked at the path that...

Man! This is like a guided hunt on private land... Lol Point me to the path, give me instructions, hope I don't screw it up and pray the animals cooperate:) Thanks so much for the intel. And boy, you are right, info like this only helps if you're lucky enough to get drawn. Much props to NWTF for...

NWTF San Diego Lake Sutherland Hunt

Thanks so much for the post. I was blessed enough to get drawn at the event and I'm up next to try out the same area. My hunting partner has never been turkey hunting so I'll try to call them out for him. First time out scouting there I found tracks towards the beginning and middle of the trail...

To blind or not to blind?

Thanks for the pic and feedback. I like minimal, changing it up to just a front blind and we'll set up next to one another. Now more scouting... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To blind or not to blind?

Gotcha. I do have turkey pads but not the spray. Does peppermint oil work well? I see a bunch of poisons and a few natural stuff to kill em. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To blind or not to blind?

Great feed back. Thanks ilovesprig. I now plan on hunting next to my friend. I enjoy the tracking and calling, the shooting is just icing on the cake. I'd like my friend to get the shot if we get the chance. I don't have high expectations to take a bird home and if he does get one even better...

    spring turkey tune-up

Great idea to fill the decoys I purchased with foam for practice. I just learned that I should layout my new blind and wipe it down with some mud. Some say it reduces the sheen from the fabric and helps out. Time to play house with the kids. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To blind or not to blind?

Thank you for the responses. To add, my hunting partner has never been turkey hunting. The blind leading the blind. I was maybe thinking putting him in the blind and I could be in an area next to a tree. We would discuss what direction and who gets the shot, IF a bird happens by. I'm rethinking...

To blind or not to blind?

I've only hunted turkey once before on private land in Oregon. We found the tree, waited all morning in a blind and the turkeys went the other way. Chased them down and cut them off but rookie mistake, I spooked them. Next day, I sat in some bushes in the direction they went the morning before...
