How much money has been wasted on past projects to save the sea. Sure would like to see some investigative reporting done to follow the money. Nothing is going to fix the sea unless more water is added. You cannot move dirt around and think it will reduce dust. The sea salt content and chemical buildup is to high for anything to survive in it. It needs more water and that is not going to happen with the influx of Lithium mining. They want the sea reduced to access more area.

Looks like the same project that has been going on for a while. On of my buddies has a small club down by Millionaires duck club. They are flooding that and it is attracting ducks and other birds. But the work up by Hazard unit seemed to just stop from what I’ve noticed. They need to get water from somewhere.

Steve is right: From News 3, The Salton Sea area alone has the estimated potential to provide 40 percent of the lithium used by the world. Lithium -- used in electric vehicles, cell phones and more – holds incredible opportunity in an area that has been lied to before.
But herein lies the question: "One hundred percent of the tax that will be collected on the lithium that is recovered will be reinvested back into the community, not only to address the Salton Sea problems, but also to address the infrastructure needs of the region," said Garcia. What does "address the Salton Sea problems" mean? I used to waterski on the Salton Sea back in the 1960s. We camped many a summer along the shores, enjoying fishing and hiking.
If these Lithium mines employ as many as expected, there will be Housing Tracts around Wister like there are around San Jacinto today!
