My guess is only since last season...2 seasons at the most. It has some rust and the stock is sun damaged to the point that the fiberglass gets all over you and is annoying.
The owner should have the serial number on hand. It is on their paperwork when the weapon is purchased. How freaking odd. I have found weapons at the shooting range that were left behind but never out in the field.
if it’s a post 2014 long gun technically it should have been registered to the owner who purchased it. I’m sure the local PD department could reach out to the registered owner
