So I've recently run into a hunting opportunity on a private piece of land in Montana for deer/elk and I have never hunted outside of California for large game. Was just curious as to how to go about obtaining a tag for elk as a non-resident in Montana. Do I have to go through the draw system...

Well, my last day at San Jac was going to be a total bust. Never saw a bird at first shooting light. The season was officially over for me, so I pulled all my decoys and packed em up. This was going down as the worst day ever in all my worst days hunting & then this happened…..

That is awesome. My favorite memories are taking my son there as a youngster. He's 28 now and we still go together. They grow up fast. He's getting married in April but we still plan to hunt ducks, deer and turkey together. Hopefully, you will have many years in the blind with your son as well...
