I'd love to know private vs public harvest as well. *Rough* numbers are about 4500 tags (d16, a22, d16, g13, who knows how many AO) and 220ish deer killed.

I recently picked up a pair of Hoka's. They seem very decent so far. Light and good grip like the Salomon but seems built better. I am still not sure how long they will last though. There is only so much durability with the light stuff.

You're overthinking this man. If that 7mm killed a stag and you made a perfect shot. Just repeat the process with a cow elk, it's basically the same thing. I've killed 1/2 dozen cows with my .270 and consider it a perfect cow elk gun, that 7 will certainly do the trick.
