    Nevada!

You are absolutely right @NBK!!! For what he told me today he was planning to spend on a bird hunt he could apply there for the next couple of decades…. Priorities?!?! I kid @Truduct. I don’t know a kinder more selfless guy.

    Nevada!

More than any other state, putting in my Nevada app gets me fired up! Yes, in general tags are hard to come by.... but they have an awesome bonus point and draw system, and everyone has a chance. They manage for quality hunts and quality animals, and their application system is one of the best...

    CA Application Day!

Ok just got some details on this. The tags still exist but they all go as auction tags now instead of some going as the fundraising raffle tags that we used to be able to get. So they are trying to maximize funding from these tags which is great for the sheep and elk but sucks for the average...

    CA Application Day!

Auction and raffle tags produce a lot of money that goes directly to conservation. One or two of these for each species really increases funding over the regular license, application, and tag fees. It was also an “extra chance” to draw outside of the regular draw. Sad to see it go.

    CA Application Day!

I don’t have the details but I was told there was some sort of complaint or law suit about the sheep and elk tags because there are so few to begin with, and instead of fight it they got rid of them. If someone has more or better info feel free to correct me or fill in. I believe they still have...

    Kanati Rock Ranch, Rocksprings, Texas

I hunt a property about 45 min from there once or twice every year. Lots of animals in Texas Hill Country! Make sure you go to Lum’s BBQ in Junction. Couple taxidermy shops in Junction too. I’ve used Rawhide and they did a good job.

    Mid Range Binos

Less than 1500 will get you new mid range Zeiss, but not top tier.

    Mid Range Binos

To my knowledge, that is not an entirely true statement. Zeiss lenses are made in Germany, using glass sourced from Germany and also sometimes from Japan. Only the Terra line (the cheapo line) is manufactured in Asia.

    Tent With Stove

@Truduct has one. If you're running the stove, condensation will not be an issue. What state are we talking about?

    Upland game 12g shotgun

Red labels are sweet guns but generally cost significantly more than he said he wanted to pay.

    Upland game 12g shotgun

My advice is always to go see the fine gentlemen at Fine Firearms. However, to my knowledge they don’t sell new “entry level” doubles. They do have some used guns and there might be something worth looking at in their selection, 12 gauge citoris are fairly easy to find. Also, John or anyone else...

    Upland game 12g shotgun

Need to be a little more specific with what you want. Are you looking only at over/under guns? Or only double guns? Or is everything on the table? For 900-1000 you can get into a 12 gauge citori, which in my opinion is a much better purchase than the two guns you listed. If we’re talking autos...
