    New rifle is complete!

Looks dipped. If you check out the top of the grip the 'image' distorts/enlogates. Killer rifle.

    Antelope hunt

190 grains for an antelope , sounds like he has it all dialed in... Looks legit.

    Hawaii axis

I've been interested in the hunt for a while, and read through all the HI state info, but I'd be curious to hear from someone who has done it. How would you rank the hunt in terms of difficulty (access, physical, opportunity, etc)? Also, what are the logistics or costs in getting home skull and...

    First blood.

Great work man. I keep hoping the heat will break so I can take my boy out for the first time.

    Binoculars or spotting scope

Seconded. I only buy high quality glass so I didn't even think about that aspect.

    Binoculars or spotting scope

Realistically if you're hunting in the west it's best to own both, although you may not pack both for every hunt. My experience has been: binos find the animal, spotting scope confirms if it's a shooter. /edit and a tripod if you don't own one.

    Hunting NorCal Antelope

Have you hunted antelope elsewhere? I haven't done the specific NorCal antelope, but just knowing antelope in general will be a huge help. If you plan to rifle hunt be sure you know your maximum comfort range for ethical shots... Common antelope shots are 200+ yards.

    Rabbit/Hunting Season Opener....2018

Second time I've seen you mention the MCC fields, but I can't find anything specific on Onx near Henshaw. Any help for a newbie wanting to take his son out for some cottontails?

He's no trophy (well he is to me...), but here's my DIY euro mount for my first ever kill on a Wyoming antelope.

Switched to copper and went 3 for 3 in So Cal.

Venturing a guess, D16 out near the D19 border ~San Felipe.

    Best deer processor?

Trim was ground, everything else was in roasts (prefer large muscle groups, no steaks). Asked for shanks to be cut into osso bucco which was nowhere to be found.

    Best deer processor?

Agree to do it yourself... I know you said you didn't want to, but it's soo easy and IMO part of the whole event. I did an out of state antelope earlier in the month and due to distance and time constraints I decided to process with a well reviewed local business and I was utterly disappointed...

    Non Lead Recommendations

Agreed. Tikka T3X Hunter in 7mm Rem Mag and I tried Federal, Barnes and Hornady copper in the 139-140 grain range. All 3 were sub-moa capable, but my rifle clearly favored the Hornady Superformance GMX for consistency and grouping.

2016 D Zone Big Buck Contest

The note on that check... "DZone BBC", could be confused you're paying him for something else entirely.

    Passing on my Genes D16

Awesome story, the loving frustration in the setup, LOL! My oldest boy is only 3, but I already have designs on him for the future... We'll see if he's game when the time comes.

Lots of San Diegan Noob Posts... Here's Another

Greetings, Wanted to introduce myself as a lifelong firearms enthusiast, but frankly a city boy in terms of exposure and opportunity to hunt. I'm taking it upon myself to change that and educate myself about local opportunities and game that can educate me for bigger options. My main goal is...
