    I'll be out in the IV for closing weekend on Saturday. Since all of the LA/OC area D Zones have burned down this week, it looks like I'll be waiting on waterfowl at the end of October.

    That's what I was thinking. I buy 2 3/4 for upland, mostly because it's a bit cheaper, but if I have 3in laying around, I'll use it. I've never had a problem using them. I don't know......

    I was talking to a friend the other day, coordinating for the dove opener. He said that he's been told by CDFW that 3in shells aren't to be used for dove, just 2 3/4. This didn't sound right to me, and I went back and checked the regs. I couldn't find anything that said you couldn't use 3in...

    Either way. I was shocked to see that it was a premium tag. I was talking to a friend who works out there quite a bit, and said he knew where there were deer, and I still only have 1 tag for deer, and was gonna go buy one, and lo and behold it wasn't available.     D15 is my backyard. I'm planning on rifle for D15, but if you need another set of eyes, I'd be more than happy to do some scouting with you, or hands carrying something out.

    Good luck. We'll be giving D15 a shot this year, as well as D11. Me and the kids are learning as we go. I haven't done a whole ton of deer hunting, but hopefully they'll be old pro's by the time they garduate high school
